Ecogea PURE is a new product quality certification for food and dietary supplements. It provides third party independent, institutionally verified product documentation guarantee and ensures:

• • Verified microbiological suitability
  • Verified analyses of chemical contaminants (pesticides and heavy metals)
  • Verified origin of the product ingredients
  • Verified free of problematic additives
  • Verified compliance with environmental regulations
  • Verified compliance with fair trade practices for raw materials
  • Verified free of unauthorized genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

This Standard was developed on an international, multinational level by the ECOGEA Institute to define common requirements and definitions for the quality label with the statement “PURE”. The objectives are to implement principles that promote and favor the use of safe ingredients without any contaminants and problematic additives. The use of raw materials from natural sources and/or organic agriculture is encouraged but not required.

Another important goal is to present a standard that can be implemented by micro and small companies as well as multinational corporations. The current standards and labels generally favor large and rich companies, which means that it is almost impossible for small companies, micro-family businesses or start-ups to implement them.
